This privacy policy covers the collection and use of personal data that may be collected when you contact us - for example when you visit our website, enquire about, book or purchase services, or when you call us. Please take a moment to read the document below, which explains how we handle your personal data and what happens with your data.
Your rights regarding personal data have the highest priority, and we do our utmost to protect these rights.
Any further data protection obligations that go beyond this privacy policy remain unaffected.
Why do we collect personal data?
We collect and use your personal data to provide you with exemplary customer service, give you convenient access to our website, and offer an optimised range of services. In addition, your personal data helps us keep you up to date on the latest information and other developments that we believe may be of interest to you.
What data is collected?
There are various situations in which your personal data can help us provide you with better service. For example, you may be asked to provide personal details when you start a transaction. We only ever request information that is relevant to the situation in question, for example name, postal address, phone number, email address and preferred method of contact. In addition, we collect information for market research purposes in order to get to know our customers better and thereby offer you a more effective service. We also collect data on customer activities on our website. This data allows us to determine what information is genuinely useful to our customers and which areas of our websites and internet services they are most interested in.
When do we share personal data?
We take the protection of your personal rights very seriously. We assure you that we do not sell or rent your contact information to other providers. In order to provide you with excellent service, we may share your personal data with legal entities who, however, are obliged to protect this data in accordance with the privacy policy. It may be beneficial for us to make certain personal data from you available to other companies with whom we have entered into a strategic partnership or who work for us to deliver products and services on our behalf. These companies are also obliged to protect your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy. In some cases, we may be required by law or legal process to disclose your personal data.
How do we protect your personal data?
We take precautions - including administrative, electronic and physical procedures - to protect your personal data from loss, theft and misuse, as well as from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification and destruction. You can also help by taking appropriate precautions to protect your personal data on the internet. Change your password regularly. Use a combination of letters and numbers and always make sure you use a secure web browser.
Integrity of your personal data
We have put safeguards in place to ensure that your personal data is always accurate, complete and up to date for its intended purposes. You have the right at any time to access and correct the personal data you have provided. You can help us make sure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete and up to date.
Cookies and other technologies
As is common on many other company websites, we also use so-called "cookies" and other technologies to gain a better insight into which areas of our website are particularly popular, how our visitors move around the site and how much time they spend in the different areas. We also use cookies and other technologies to ensure that our online advertising is effective and actually draws customers' attention to our products and services. We use cookies and other technologies to analyse traffic on our site so we can further improve its design and functionality, and to examine the efficiency of communication with our customers. We also use cookies to better tailor the website to your needs and make navigation more convenient on every visit. Like most websites, we automatically collect certain information and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol addresses (IP addresses), browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamps and clickstream data.
Our company-wide commitment to protecting your privacy rights
As already mentioned, we take the protection of your personal rights very seriously. To ensure the security of your personal data, these guidelines are shared with all employees and security measures to protect privacy rights are strictly implemented within the company.
The website contains links to websites of other companies. We are not responsible for how these companies handle privacy rights. We therefore recommend that you ask these companies about their privacy policy.
Use of external services
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies" - text files that are stored on your computer and enable analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide further services related to website use and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser software settings. Please note that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website.
You can prevent the collection of data about your use of this website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
Further information on the terms of use and data protection of Google Analytics can be found at: https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/ and at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.
Third-party content may be embedded within this online offer, such as videos from YouTube and Facebook, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites. This always requires the providers of these contents (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") to recognise the user's IP address. Without the IP address, they would not be able to send the content to the respective user's browser. The IP address is therefore necessary for the display of this content. We endeavour to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address solely to deliver the content. However, we have no control over third-party providers storing the IP address for statistical purposes. As far as this is known to us, we inform users accordingly.
Facebook remarketing / retargeting
Our pages include remarketing tags from the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. When you visit our pages, the remarketing tags establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook thereby receives the information that you visited our site with your IP address. This allows Facebook to associate the visit to our pages with your user account. We may use the information obtained in this way to display Facebook Ads. We point out that, as the provider of the pages, we do not receive any knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. For more information, please refer to Facebook's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. If you do not wish data to be collected via Custom Audience, you can deactivate Custom Audiences.
Conversion tracking with the Facebook visitor action pixel
With your consent, we use the "visitor action pixel" from Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook") within our website. This allows us to track the actions of users after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook advertisement. In this way, we can record the effectiveness of the Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes. The data collected in this way is anonymous for us - that is, we do not see the personal data of individual users. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook, about which we inform you to the best of our knowledge. Facebook can link this data to your Facebook account and also use it for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook's Data Use Policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. You can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on and outside Facebook. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for these purposes.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity, a web analytics service from Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA ("Microsoft"), to analyse the use of our website and improve user experience. Clarity allows us, among other things, to evaluate mouse movements, clicks and scrolling behaviour in anonymised form and to create so-called heatmaps. Microsoft may also use the data collected for its own purposes, such as improving Microsoft products. The legal basis for the use of Clarity is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. The information collected by Clarity may be transferred to and stored in the USA. Microsoft has adopted the EU standard contractual clauses to ensure an adequate level of data protection. Further information can be found in Microsoft's privacy notice: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/privacy/privacystatement. You can revoke your consent at any time via our consent management tool.
This consent may only be given by users over 13 years of age. If you are younger, please ask your legal guardians for advice.
Hosting, form processing & CDN (Netlify)
Our website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA ("Netlify"). Netlify provides the server and CDN infrastructure for delivering our content and automatically processes technical access data (including IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer URL, time of access) that your browser transmits as part of delivering the website. This data is used for provision, security (e.g. protection against misuse) and stability of the website.
In addition, we use Netlify Forms to process data submitted through our forms (e.g. contact, newsletter and e-book forms). Your input is transmitted to Netlify, temporarily stored there, and passed on to us or connected services (e.g. Brevo, see below) for further processing. Netlify also uses an automatic spam filter that performs a technical analysis of form submissions.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a stable, secure and functional website). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify. Data may be transferred to the USA; Netlify has adopted the EU standard contractual clauses to ensure an adequate level of data protection. Further information can be found in Netlify's privacy policy at https://www.netlify.com/privacy/.
Email delivery and newsletter (Brevo)
For sending transactional emails (e.g. notifications about contact enquiries, confirmations, sending e-books or lead magnets) and for our newsletter delivery, we use the service Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), operated by Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France ("Brevo"). When you sign up for a newsletter or e-book via a form on our website, or contact us via a contact form, the data you provide (in particular email address, name and any further contact information) is transmitted to Brevo and stored there to carry out the requested delivery and manage the recipient list.
Brevo uses the data transmitted to us exclusively to provide the email delivery service on our behalf, and also performs statistical analyses of delivery and open behaviour (e.g. delivery rate, opens, clicks), which are made available to us in anonymised or pseudonymised form so that we can optimise delivery. Delivery takes place on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 7(2) Austrian Unfair Competition Act) or for the implementation of pre-contractual or contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Brevo. You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in each newsletter email or by informal message to office@nordsteg.at. Further information can be found in Brevo's privacy policy at https://www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/.
Your rights, in particular the right to object
If you have any questions or concerns about the privacy policy, please get in touch. Send us a message (contact details below). You can of course ask us which data we process about you, where this data comes from, what it is used for and to whom it is transmitted. You can also correct inaccurate data or have processed data deleted. The provisions of data protection law apply.
We are entitled to change the privacy policy from time to time. If material changes are made, a corresponding notice will be published on our website together with the updated version of the privacy policy.
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure or restriction at any time. If you wish to exercise your rights, in particular if you wish to revoke your consent to the collection, storage or use of your personal data by us with effect for the future, please contact us informally by email or post:
